Michael David Buchanan

Recognized by USA Today for his classroom creativity, Michael Buchanan was featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and acknowledged by his peers in 2001 when he was awarded Teacher-of-the-Year at nationally recognized Chattahoochee High.

Buchanan co-authored the novel Micah’s Child with Diane Lang and he has been published in the Southern anthology O Georgia! and has written articles for artifact magazines as well as for the Georgia Council of Math Teachers. Lang and Buchanan have finished their second novel, Cry of the Quetzal, and a biography about an obese teenager, The Fat Boy Chronicles.  Their original screenplay, Treasure of the Four Lions, is in preproduction with Riverwood Studios, Southern Sky Films and their own film company, Tin Roof Films. Their first short film, “Last Bullet”, is set for release December 2008. Also, the writing team mixes teaching film production in Atlanta high schools with appearing as speakers on Celebrity Cruises. Buchanan lectures throughout the South to book clubs and educational groups about his writing and his unique hobby of diving in alligator-infested rivers for fossils and artifacts.
